Pass It On!

There are a wide range of ways companies market their products or services.  Commercials enlist actors declaring how much they love such and such product they have never used or some NBA basketball star is paid to say how often they dine at the greasy fast food restaurant we are sure they do not frequent.  Other sources are billboards, radio ads, ads in the mail or newspaper, online ads, etc.  Sometimes we even see marketing (good or bad) in online comments people make. 

Though these methods are diverse and useful in their own way, we think the best method is by word of mouth.  The reasons?  Credibility, trust, comfort, accountability, and a host of other reasons.  Those people we usually receive word of mouth referrals from are those we know, trust, and care about.  We often see them as credible and trustworthy and the referrals they give can be given in a comforting and non-threatening atmosphere.  Accountability by them and us after we have used a certain product or service may be one of the biggest reasons word of mouth referrals are so useful.  We know deep down if we give or receive a sub-par referral we can lose credibility and trust.  We also want those we care about to give or receive the best.

Another Time for Mourning-Cody

Some months back, I wrote about the loss of our Electrical Engineer, John, to cancer.  We have now lost someone else who is very special to us.  On our website's, "Description" page (and "'Foto' Gallery" page) there is a picture of a young man with Down Syndrome.  His name is Cody and he recently passed away.  He and his wonderful family were kind enough to allow us to take photos of him using FotoDialer for our website and for marketing materials.  Cody is not only special to us because of his help, but he is also a relative to some of us at IntelliSolve and The Vision Group.  He is my second cousin and has always been the excitement at any family gathering.  It was with great sadness we received the news of his passing, yet we know he is with God now and free of this life's pain.  Should more of us display Cody's love, zest for life, and devotion to family, this life would be so much better.  We would be more trusting of one another and be more willing to lend a helping hand to our neighbors.  We wouldn't search for ulterior motives as the reason someone aided us, but would see them as just helping out.  

Cody loved and was loved in return.  May we see his life as an example for us to follow.

Thanksgiving, Cyber Monday, and Other Thoughts

Get on the Shelf Competition

Last year, we entered the Get on the Shelf competition put on by Walmart.  This competition enables the winner to have their product sold on walmart.com or even in their stores.  It was a good experience before so we thought we would try it again this year.  Last time, we submitted two videos into one that showed the elderly using FotoDialer.  We decided to use a video of a child using FotoDialer this year.  I don't have a link to our submission yet, but here are four FotoDialer videos you can view that show FotoDialer:

Happy Independence Day . . . And A Time For Mourning

Yes, I know.  Today is not Independence Day, yesterday was.  However, I was with my family and friends and wasn't even near a computer to post anything.  So today is the day to say, "Happy Independence Day!" and to say how grateful we are for liberty, our Founding, and for those who fight in so many ways for freedom.

Another reason we love FotoDialer is because it allows for independence for those who use it.  The elderly, young, and disabled have barriers of typical phone communcation removed and are able to communicate with confidence.  FotoDialer can be seen HERE!

We also want to take the time to give our prayers and thoughts to the family of John McMullen.  He was instrumental in the development of FotoDialer as an electrical engineer.  We ran into some electrical problems in the development of FotoDialer and could see no way to fix them.  It seemed our hopes of creating FotoDialer were dashed.  Then we found John.  He came in and fixed the problems which allowed FotoDialer to be completed and be the telephone aid so many needed.  He passed away early this week from a valiant fight with cancer.  He lived longer than doctors thought he would.  We are grateful for his life, our relationship with him, and for the good he has done for so many people around the world.  John, you will be missed!
